L’ultima gara del FIA World Rally Championship 2018 non è purtroppo terminata come da aspettative per Enrico Brazzoli e Luca Beltrame: l’equipaggio della Scuderia Winners Rally Team, per l’occasione a bordo di una Citroën DS3 R3T, è stato infatti costretto al ritiro nel corso del secondo passaggio sulla Prova Speciale “Welshs Creek Reverse” a causa di un’uscita di strada che ha provocato danni irreparabili alla vettura. Al momento del ritiro l’equipaggio piemontese occupava la 22^ posizione assoluta ed erano primi della classifica WRC3. Il risultato finale del Rally Australia sarebbe stato comunque ininfluente ai fini della classifica finale del Campionato in quanto Brazzoli e Beltrame si erano già matematicamente laureati Campioni WRC3 2018 con la vittoria al Rally RACC Catalunya a fine ottobre.
“E’ davvero un peccato non essere riusciti a concludere l’appuntamento australiano, una gara meravigliosa in un contesto davvero incredibile: al momento dell’incidente stavamo conducendo una gara “tranquilla” dopo i problemi tecnici patiti nel corso della prima Tappa e volevamo solo raggiungere il traguardo finale. La vettura si è scomposta in un tratto molto veloce e purtroppo non c’è stato nulla da fare: siamo finiti fuori strada ed gli ingenti danni subiti dalla nostra Citroën non erano riparabili” ha dichiarato Enrico Brazzoli al suo rientro da Coffs Harbour “Desidero ringraziare ancora una volta il la mia Scuderia, il Team Vieffecorse che aveva organizzato in maniera perfetta la mia trasferta australiana, il Team Rally Hire di Ron Cremen che mi ha messo a disposizione la vettura da gara in Australia, Pirelli e, ovviamente, tutti gli sponsor che hanno supportato la mia incredibile stagione nel WRC 2018. Adesso inizierò a pensare alla stagione 2019: mi piacerebbe disputare qualche gara del Mondiale WRC2 al volante di una vettura R5 e sto lavorando perché questo possa accadere”.

Unfortunately the last event of the FIA World Rally Championship 2018 did not finish as expected for Enrico Brazzoli and Luca Beltrame: the crew of Winners Rally Team, on this occasion on board of a Citroën DS3 R3T, was forced to withdrawal during the second passage on the Special Stage "Welshs Creek Reverse" due to a road exit that caused irreparable damages to the rally car. At the time of the withdrawal the Piedmontese crew was 22nd in the overall classification and first in the WRC3 classification. The final result of Rally Australia would have been irrelevant for the final classification of the Championship because Brazzoli and Beltrame had already mathematically graduated WRC3 Champions 2018 after Rally RACC Catalunya Rally which they won at the end of October.
"It's a shame we could not reach the end of the Australian event, a marvellous rally in a truly incredible context: at the time of the accident we were disputing a "quiet" race after the technical problems we suffered during the first Leg and we just wanted to reach the final podium in Coffs Harbour. The car has slipped away in a very fast part of the Stage and unfortunately there was nothing to do for keeping it on the road: we went off and the huge damages suffered by our Citroën were not repairable" Enrico Brazzoli said on his return from Coffs Harbour "I would like to thank once again Winners Rally Team, the management of Team Vieffecorse who perfectly organized my Australian trip, Ron Cremen of Rally Hire who made the rally car available in Australia, Pirelli and, of course, all the sponsors who supported my unbelievable season in WRC 2018. Now I will start thinking about the next season: in 2019 I would like to enter some events of WRC2 at the wheel of an R5 car and I'm working to make this happen".
