Nonostante una terza Tappa molto sofferta a causa di problemi alla trasmissione (che hanno imposto un passo molto controllato lungo le due Prove Speciali conclusive), Enrico Brazzoli e Luca Beltrame hanno completato la gara tedesca con la Peugeot 208 R2 “made in Vieffecorse”, supportata da WRT, in seconda posizione tra le WRC3 ed in trentacinquesima posizione nella classifica generale. Con questo risultato, l’equipaggio italiano si conferma al quinto posto nella classifica WRC3 quando mancano quattro sole gare alla conclusione del FIA World Rally Championship 2018.
“Benché la classifica WRC3 fosse ormai definita e fosse sufficiente raggiungere il traguardo finale, l’ultima Tappa del Rallye Deutschland ci ha fatto soffrire parecchio. Al termine della prima P.S della giornata, abbiamo sentito un rumore proveniente dal differenziale che ci ha imposto un’andatura “turistica” lungo le ultime due Prove per il timore che una rottura definitiva compromettesse il risultato finale. Fortunatamente non è successo nulla ed abbiamo raggiunto l’obbiettivo che ci eravamo prefissati per questa gara, facendo registrare il miglior tempo tra le WRC3 in cinque Prove Speciali” ha dichiarato Enrico Brazzoli al suo arrivo sulla pedana a St. Wendel “Adesso siamo già proiettati verso i due impegni conclusivi che ci aspettano (Wales Rally in Gran Bretagna e Rally Catalunya in Spagna). Sappiamo di poter disporre di un pacchetto tecnico (vettura / pneumatici Pirelli / Team) di prim’ordine e già in Germania abbiamo visto che possiamo giocarla ad armi pari con i nostri diretti rivali. l’obbiettivo dichiarato resta quello di terminare il Campionato nelle postazioni di vertice e ci proveremo fino in fondo”.
Il prossimo impegno dell’equipaggio Vieffecorse è il Wales Rally GB, in calendario nella prima settimana di ottobre lungo gli stupendi e difficilissimi sterrati nelle foreste del nord della Gran Bretagna.
Despite a suffered Leg 3 because a disturbing "noise" from the transmission (which imposed a very controlled pace along the last two Special Stages), Enrico Brazzoli and Luca Beltrame completed the German event with the Peugeot 208 R2 "made in Vieffecorse", support WRT, in second position among the WRC3 and in thirty-fifth position in the overall classification. With this result, the Italian crew confirms its fifth place in the WRC3 classification when only four races are missing at the end of the FIA World Rally Championship 2018.
"Although the WRC3 classification was already defined and it was enough to reach the finish, the last stage of Rallye Deutschland made us suffer a lot. At the end of the first P.S of the Day, we heard a strange noise coming from the differential that imposed a "tourist" pace along the last two Stages, for fear that a final break would compromise the final result. Fortunately nothing has happened and we have reached the goal we had set ourselves for this rally, winning five Stages among the WRC3 drivers" Enrico Brazzoli said when he arrived on the podium in St. Wendel “Now we are projected towards the two final events that await us (Wales Rally in Great Britain and Rally Catalunya in Spain. We know we have a top-class technical package (car / Pirelli tyres / Team) and in Germany we have seen that we can play the game on equal terms with our direct rivals. the declared objective remains finishing the Championship in the top positions and we will try to achieve it till the end".
The next engagement for the crew Vieffecorse will be Wales Rally GB, scheduled in the first week of October along the wonderful and difficult gravel Stages in the forests of northern Great Britain.
