RIS 2018 - Comunicato Stampa finale

At the end of a very tough race, mostly conditioned by an unusual (for this period of the year) bad weather, the crew composed by Enrico Brazzoli and Luca Beltrame aboard the Peugeot 208 R2 "made in Vieffecorse" returns home with the fourth position in the WRC3 ranking. With the 12 points earned in Sardinia, the driver from Cuneo reaches the  fourth position in the  Championship standings and is already thinking about the Deutschland Rally that will take place in mid-August and which could project him even higher in the WRC3 ranking.

"It was a really complicated race because of the weather conditions: violent storms have scourged the north of Sardinia, making the Special Stages particularly muddy and slippery, which necessarily led to the use of tyres with a compound quite softer than the one we expected to use and this has unfortunately increased the risk of punctures .... which have punctually occurred, making us waste precious time in the Special Stages. This caused the collapse of the wheel studs (first Leg) and then the break of the radiator (second Leg), which forced us to make two stops early" Enrico Brazzoli declared when he arrived in Alghero "We could start again on both occasions with the supeRally but, as per regulation, with a heavy penalty for each non-disputed SS: this meant that our heavy gap from our rivals prevented us from gaining the podium we had as our goal. In any case we come back from Sardinia with some good points and we are already projected towards our next round of the Championsip in a couple of months: in view of the German race, the first on asphalt of our season, we have scheduled a test session to prepare the rally at its the best and continue my run-up to the title ".
