Si è concluso ai piedi del podio il Rallye Deutschland 2017 per Enrico Brazzoli e Maurizio Barone: l'equipaggio portacolori di Winners Rally Team, come di consueto al via con la Peugeot 208 R2 curata da Vieffecorse, si è piazzato al quarto posto della classifica WRC3 ed in quarantesima posizione assoluta. Con questo risultato Brazzoli e Barone guadagnano due posizioni nella graduatoria generale del WRC3 quando restano ancora da disputare il Rally RACC Catalunya e il Dayinsure Wales Rally GB.
"Alla partenza dell'ultimo giorno di gara temevamo l'attacco della Fiesta R2 del velocissimo pilota francese Ciamin, che era staccato da noi di un minuto scarso: ci ha provato fin dalla prima PS di giornata ma, a seguito dei danni riportati dopo un'uscita di strada, la battaglia si è subito conclusa a nostro favore, garantendoci un'onorevole quarta piazza finale tra gli iscritti al WRC3" ha dichiarato Enrico Brazzoli sulla pedana di arrivo a Bostalsee "Ho faticato fin dall'inizio a trovare il giusto feeling con la vettura e, in più di un'occasione, ho patito distacchi che non hanno rispecchiato la mia condotta di gara. In alcune Prove, infatti, il gap era minimo mentre in altre era altissimo: al ritorno in Italia abbiamo in programma un'attenta analisi della telemetria per capire cosa non è andato nel verso giusto. Per la prima volta ho utilizzato sull'asfalto la nuova gamma di pneumatici DMack, che si sono rivelati un ottimo prodotto al pari di quelli che avevo già avuto modo di usare sulla terra. In ogni caso, con i punti conquistati in Germania, miglioriamo la nostra posizione nella classifica WRC3 e l'obiettivo è quello di progredire ancora raccogliendo ulteriori punti importanti entro la fine della stagione".
ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2017 has finished just out of the podium for Enrico Brazzoli and Maurizio Barone: the crew of Winners Rally Team, as usual on board of the Peugeot 208 R2 managed by Vieffecorse, ended in fourth place in the classification WRC3 and in fortieth position overall. With this result, Brazzoli and Barone earn two positions in the overall ranking of WRC3, with only two events (Rally RACC Catalunya and Dayinsure Wales Rally GB) to be run before the end of the Championship.
"At the start of Leg 3 we expected the attack of the Ford Fiesta R2 driven by the French driver Nicholas Ciamin, who was just one minute behind us: he tried to overtake us from the beginning but the damages he reported after he went off the road in SS18 made the battle ended to our favour, with the final fourth position among the drivers registered for WRC" Brazzoli said on the podium in Bostalsee "It has been quite hard to find the right feeling with my car and, in many occasions, I have suffered problems that did not reflect my driving skills. In some Stages the gap from my rivals was minimum while in other ones it was very high: when we'll be back home, we'll check all data of the telemetry for understanding what did not work properly. For the first time I have used on tarmac the new range of DMack tyres and they proved to be an excellent product as the ones I used on gravel. In any case, with the points gained in Germany, we have improved our position in the WRC3 classification and our goal is to progress a bit more collecting important points within the end of the season".
